Welcome to Superior

Located between Boulder and Denver, Superior, Colorado, is a well-heeled small town filled with manicured, tree-lined streets and community amenities such as pools, parks, and walking trails. A new downtown area has sprouted, bringing additional retail and restaurants to the area. Here, the small population of just over 13,000 people enjoys easy access to both Boulder and Denver.

Superior’s history is synonymous with coal mining. In fact, the community’s name supposedly derives from the “superior” quality of the area’s coal. The industry drove the local economy from the development of the first mines in the late 1800s until the last one closed in 1945.

In Superior, you’ll find high-end homes, lakefront townhomes, and upscale condominium communities. The largest residential enclave is Rock Creek, which was launched in 1987 and is still growing today.
