Located 12 miles east of Boulder, Colorado, Erie offers a small-town feel with a progressive civic vision. The discovery of coal in Erie drew settlers to the region in the mid-1800s. By 1870, the railroad arrived. The town was officially incorporated in 1874 and celebrated its sesquicentennial in 2024. Erie was one of the only “wet” towns in the area, and in the late 1800s, Briggs Street was lined with nearly a dozen saloons. This stretch of downtown remains a popular destination today, featuring great restaurants, shops, and services.

  • Colorado National Golf Club: Built in 2003, this exceptional club boasts a 7,567-yard par 72 course and an 11,000-square-foot clubhouse featuring the award-winning Master’s restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. In addition to its numerous “best course” accolades, the club has also been commended for its food, pro shop, and practice facilities. CNGC is also home to the University of Colorado’s golf teams.
  • Top-Notch Community Facilities: Erie residents enjoy access to award-winning community spaces, including the 63,000-square-foot Erie Community Center. Opened in 2008, the facility includes an indoor pool, a full gymnasium, sports courts, meeting rooms, and a long list of individual and group fitness programming. Just a few feet away, you’ll find the 20,000-square-foot Erie Community Library. Opened in 2008, it includes a collection of more than 60,000 items, a cozy fireplace lounge, outdoor patios, study spaces, and meeting rooms.
  • Colorado National Speedway: At the nearby Colorado National Speedway, spectators cheer on a wide range of motorsports, including the e NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series. Exciting summer events include motorcycle racing, swap meets, monster truck rallies, impressive fireworks displays, and more.
