Nestled in the St. Vrain Valley — just 15 miles northeast of Boulder — Longmont, Colorado, is a beautiful community known for its excellent climate, outstanding Rocky Mountain views and a downtown that retains its local small town feel. With a majority of the business being “mom and pop” owned, a stroll along Main Street is extra special.

Longmont was founded in 1871 by a group of Chicago men who sold shares to form a new town called the “Chicago-Colorado Colony,” making this Boulder County’s first planned community. The group purchased thousands of acres of land for a one-square-mile town center surrounded by farms and, later, flour mills, a vegetable cannery and a sugar factory. Around the turn of the 19th century, Longmont had about 4,000 residents. Today, more than 98,885 people reside here.

In Longmont you’ll find a diverse selection of residential properties, ranging from highly sought out historical gems located in ‘Old Town’ to affordably priced suburban starter homes, as well as condominiums and townhouses. Additionally, the area features many working and gentleman’s farms, providing a unique blend of rural and suburban living.

Things to Do & See:

  • Farmfest Music Evenings: Held at Sunflower Farm, this annual music series brings outstanding musicians together with popular food trucks, livestock and family-friendly farm activities. Don’t miss this community staple taking place each summer between late May and early October.
  • Outdoor Markets: The Longmont community comes together to mingle and enjoy local produce and wares in a series of lively markets. At the historic Boulder County Fairgrounds, you’ll find over 100 grocers and artisans at the Longmont Farmers Market, held weekly between April and November. The Longmont Artisan Market, Miracle Market series, Artwalk on Main and Summer on the Streets events invite you to peruse great arts and crafts throughout the year.
